The first foreign-funded elderly community in the Yangtze River Delta Ecology and Greenery Integration Demonstration Zone will open in September, providing inter-regional elderly care options in Shanghai and the surrounding area. the entire Yangtze River Delta region.
The senior community which will be called “Ardor Gardens” is located in Zhujiajiao, Qingpu District, with around 800 apartments that can accommodate around 1,300 residents.
With approximately 40% greenery coverage, Ardor Gardens will include senior-friendly designs in the facilities, such as barrier-free wheelchair accessible gates, and eco-friendly features like the solar heating systems of the water on the roofs.
Smart technologies will also be introduced to the community.
Robots will deliver meals to residents’ doors, and one-click alarm systems with positioning functions will allow staff to locate the elderly in an emergency.
The community will offer a range of facilities, such as fitness and yoga areas, swimming pool, cafe, tea room, reading room, and health service center with each resident’s health records.
It will primarily target people aged 60 to 75 living in Shanghai and neighboring cities who enjoy traveling and living a high-quality lifestyle, according to Lendlease, the foreign-funded developer and community operator.
