Eco-friendly bedside lamps with an artistic touch

Paper Seed Co., a social enterprise based in Pakshikere on the outskirts of Mangaluru, which has developed hand-crafted bedside lamps from recycled paper and fabric for the Festival of Lights.
“Instead of Goodu Deepa and Diyas for the festival of lights, we created bedside lamps with recycled paper and fabric. These are designer bedside lamps, emphasizing Mangaluru tradition and art, including the Yakshagana. The lamps represent the rich coastal tradition, ”said Nithin Vas, founder of Paper Seed Co.
He said: “These bedside lamps are produced in different shapes and sizes and are currently available in five varieties. Besides the traditional touch, we also gave them a contemporary look. The Paper Seed Co. will be releasing other models soon, ”he said.
Paper Seed Co. operates on the basic idea of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, with a strong commitment to Mother Nature. Every Paper Seed Co. product is handcrafted and prepared from recycled materials, with minimal exposure to chemicals.
The Paper Seed Co. had also introduced tri-color seed badges made from areca sheath, which transforms into a plant when planted in the ground, as part of Independence Day celebrations. He also created eco-friendly Seed Rakhis made from a seed encrusted areca sheath, for this year’s Raksha Bandhan. In order to minimize the threats posed by the masks, he had also launched environmentally friendly face masks that will become plants when thrown away.
