A Burbage resident has designed her own line of eco-friendly greeting cards, raising money for the Hinckley-based charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland.
Self-proclaimed nature lover, Marina Newman created the cards using a mix of photography, recycled vintage paper and watercolors. Each is printed using durable ink and cards.
“I decided to do something to fundraise for Emmaus as they are based in Hinckley and help people change their lives. It’s great that the former homeless people they support not only have a home, but also the chance to do meaningful work.
“My card designs all reflect my love of being outdoors and feature my favorite animals and peaceful natural scenes. Being in nature makes me more aware of my surroundings and all of us who live there. something I can do to help improve the lives of others.
Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland provides home, support and meaningful work to 16 former homeless people. Some stay for a while as they gain confidence and skills before they are ready to move on to an independent life.
